Hello! I am a Finnish Illustrator and Information Designer passionate about infographics, illustrating data and creating nonfiction picture books. I’m a Fulbright alumni 2021-2022; I spent spring semester 2022 in Simmons University, Boston, MA, with my project Data visualization in children’s nonfiction picture books. In 2024, I wrote a Manifesto on Illustrating Data to sum up and highlight the findings of my research project.

I write a blog called Illustrating Data, where I focus on nonfiction picture books, information design and illustration.

My debut nonfiction picture book – one I wrote and illustrated –The Flying Finn – Life of Jarno Saarinen was highly commended at the World Illustration Awards in 2019. The book was chosen a finalist for the Sports Book of the Year 2018 in Finland. The second nonfiction picture book I illustrated, Rally Team, was chosen to the collection of the Most Beautiful Books of 2021. It received a Merit Award in the 3×3 International Illustration Annual No.19.

Planned for spring 2028 is the publication of Numbers Tell Stories Too by Annette Bay Pimentel and me, illustrated by Valerya Milovanova. It is a nonfiction picture book about how Florence Nightingale's passion for statistics and her creation of the Rose Diagram revolutionized hospitals. Kathleen Rushall at Andrea Brown Literary Agency represented the authors.
